Dodgeball Championship League is a competitive dodgeball game that blends action-packed gameplay with strategic team management. Featuring two distinct modes—Exhibition and League—the game allows players to enjoy quick matches or dive into the depths of league play, where they can build, manage, and compete with customized teams across multiple cups. With a focus on physics-based dodgeball mechanics, the game offers players a fast-paced and strategic experience, whether dodging, blocking, or throwing with pinpoint accuracy. The game supports both keyboard and mouse as well as gamepads for an immersive experience.
There are two main modes in Dodgeball Championship League: Exhibition and League. Each offers unique experiences catering to casual players and those looking for more in-depth team-building and competition.
In Exhibition, players can dive straight into a match with preset teams or their customized lineups. This mode is perfect for quick, physics-based dodgeball matches. Each team consists of six players and the player can switch between different members of their team to adapt to the changing dynamics of the match.
This mode is ideal for those looking to quickly hone their skills or have fun with friends in local matches.
- League Mode is where the depth of Dodgeball Championship League truly shines. This mode allows players to manage a team through a full season, customize their players, and strategize their way through various cups, starting with the Bronze Cup and aiming for the prestigious Platinum Cup.
- Team Customization: Players can either choose from 32 preset teams or fully customize their team, including player names, uniforms, and stats.
- League Structure: The season consists of 14 games, where each of the 8 teams in the cup plays one another twice. The top 4 teams enter the semifinals, and the top 3 teams in each cup are promoted to the next level at the end of the season, while the bottom 3 are relegated.
- Player Stats: Each player’s success in the league depends on five key stats:
- Income and Salaries: Teams earn income based on their current cup and receive bonuses for victories. Players are paid from team funds, and failure to meet salary requirements will result in nullified contracts, leaving managers to replace lost players or recruit free agents.
- Postseason and Draft: Postseason games pay larger bonuses, and salaries are covered by the league, giving players extra incentive to perform well. At the end of the season, teams can draft new players and make trades, or develop their current roster through training.
The core gameplay revolves around classic dodgeball mechanics with a few additional layers of strategy:
